I’m donating three artworks for the exhibition, “Walls of Water”, a fundraiser organized by Rachel X Hobreigh for The Samburu Project. Seventy artists have donated artworks with the theme of water, and the exhibit includes a special installation featuring Renee Amitai.
Reception: Thursday, December 2, 2021 6:30 to 9:00PM
Helms Design Center, Corridor Gallery, 8723 Washington Blvd
December 2, 2021 – January 2, 2022
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the art serves to support and raise awareness for our international community. The Walls of Water project will provide sponsorship to this year’s selected non-profit The Samburu Project, an organization that affords access to clean water through supporting well communities and numerous initiatives that promote health, education, women’s empowerment, and general well-being.
In addition to purchasing an original piece of art, Rachel is hosting The Samburu Project’s pop-up shop, featuring a selection of traditional, handmade baskets and beaded jewelry direct from Samburu. Other items include Swahili textiles, wooden household items, and other handicrafts from Kenya. 100% of the proceeds from items purchased from the pop-up shop benefit The Samburu Project’s work to provide access to clean water to the Samburu people of Northern Kenya.
